Terms & conditions
These terms govern your use of StudyMaze. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use StudyMaze.
1. What StudyMaze is
StudyMaze is a learning-analytics logbook. You log study sessions and mistakes from practice assessments, and we surface breakdowns of your logged time and error patterns. StudyMaze does not generate quiz content, tutor you, grade assessments, or predict test scores — the analytics we show are computed only from data you enter yourself.
StudyMaze is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the College Board, PSAT/NMSQT, ACT, Inc., or any test administrator. SAT, PSAT, and ACT are trademarks of their respective owners.
2. Accounts
- You need an account to use StudyMaze, created with an email address and password.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- If you're under the age of majority where you live, you confirm you have a parent's or guardian's permission to use StudyMaze.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to misrepresent your identity;
- Attempt to access another user's account or data;
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, or attempt to bypass its security;
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or resell access to the service without our written permission.
4. Your content
The study sessions, mistake entries, notes, and other information you log ("your content") belongs to you. We only use it to operate the service — to store it and to compute the analytics we show back to you. Deleting an item, a learning path, or your account removes the associated content from the service.
5. Aggregate, de-identified data
We may use the study sessions and mistake entries logged across all users — stripped of anything that identifies you personally — to generate aggregate, community-wide analytics, such as which topics or error types learners commonly struggle with. We use these patterns to make StudyMaze more helpful for the whole community. This aggregate data does not identify you individually, is never sold, and isn't used for advertising.
6. Our intellectual property
The StudyMaze name, logo, design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond what's needed to use the service for its intended purpose.
7. No warranty
StudyMaze is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the analytics it shows will improve your test results — StudyMaze reflects patterns in the data you log, not a guarantee of any outcome.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudyMaze and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service — including any decisions you make based on the analytics it shows — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us to use it in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, for the free service, is zero).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Termination
You may stop using StudyMaze and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the service for anyone who violates these terms or misuses the service. On termination, the license to use the service ends, though the provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive (ownership, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Changes
We may update these terms or the service from time to time. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use StudyMaze after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
